Located in King George, VA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system. This transformative program empowers selected Fellows through comprehensive organic food system education, emphasizing social, environmental, and economic justice. Fellows engage deeply in hands-on experiences at Allegheny Farm, where they learn to cultivate diversified crops, implement innovative health education, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy within local schools. With no tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility for all aspiring leaders in food and agriculture. After a six-month immersive fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, applying their skills through partnerships with regional non-profits to foster direct access to healthy food and support local food coalition activities. Applications for this meaningful experience should be submitted by March, with the program typically running from May to October.
