Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Syracuse, UT, is dedicated to fostering a new generation of advocates and educators committed to building a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program is designed to empower selected Fellows through a comprehensive, hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm, where they receive organic food system education without tuition barriers, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Throughout their six-month tenure, Fellows engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, leading health-focused educational sessions, and enhancing food and ecological literacy within schools. They also support local farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, while working to improve distribution channels for healthy foods in their communities. After their immersive training, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and skills. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program spanning from May to October, making it a vital opportunity for those passionate about sustainable food systems.
