The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Kamas, UT, empowers aspiring leaders to become educators and advocates for a food system that promotes social, environmental, and economic justice. Selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm, where they grow diversified crops, maintain community and school gardens, and cultivate ecological literacy through innovative educational initiatives. Additionally, they collaborate with local partners to support farmers markets, develop distribution channels for healthy food access, and mentor future Fellows. The program features a six-month experiential residency, followed by a Community Action Year, allowing participants to apply their training with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
