Throughout a six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants gain hands-on experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, conducting educational sessions on health and wellness, and fostering ecological literacy in schools. They also have the opportunity to support local farmers markets and cultivate community gardens, enhancing access to nutritious food within the region. After their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their training and make a meaningful impact. Applications are accepted until March each year for the May to October sessions, creating pathways for passionate individuals to drive social, environmental, and economic justice in the food system.
