Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Allegheny Mountain Institute (AMI)
Duchesne, UT US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Duchesne, UT, empowers individuals to become influential advocates for a sustainable and just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education on a market-style farm. Without charging tuition, AMI ensures accessibility to an enriching experience that includes growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health-focused educational sessions, and developing school and community gardens. In addition to teaching food and ecological literacy, Fellows actively participate in supporting farmers markets and enhancing distribution channels for increased access to healthy foods. Committing six months to experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year with regional non-profit organizations, participants are equipped to mentor future fellows and contribute significantly to community food coalition activities. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by March each year, with program activities typically running from May to October.
