Angela Tierney

Angela Tierney is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with nearly two decades of experience working with young adults, primarily those who identify as female or gender queer, aged 18 and older. Her passion lies in guiding clients through life's challenges, fostering a nurturing and comfortable environment where they can feel at ease and build a trusting relationship with the counseling process. Angela’s warm, strength-based counseling style emphasizes listening and understanding her clients' experiences while highlighting their inherent strengths and setting achievable goals for areas that may require change. With a rich background in addressing self-harm, eating disorders, alternative lifestyles, sexual identity issues, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety, she brings a unique perspective drawn from her extensive work with young adults. Additionally, Angela incorporates innovative techniques such as sandplay therapy in her sessions, creating engaging and therapeutic experiences. With a commitment to inclusivity, she identifies as a sex-positive counselor and is certified to issue an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letter for clients who meet the necessary criteria as outlined by the American Disability Association. Currently, she is joined in her practice by her beloved Shi Poo, Lily, who adds a warm, supportive presence in the therapy room.
