Shawn Quintanilla

Shawn Quintanilla is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in working with children, individuals, adults, couples, and families. He believes that an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors shape their experiences, and thus, exploring and adjusting these core beliefs leads to meaningful change. Clients often know what will be beneficial for them based on their past problem-solving successes; sometimes, they simply require a safe environment to evaluate their beliefs and formulate a life plan. Shawn fosters a nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients can rediscover the solutions that resonate most with them, enabling them to create the life they envision. With a Doctor of Professional Counseling degree, Shawn is certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas. He is also a Registered Play Therapist and Certified Trauma Specialist. Furthermore, he carries the distinction of being a National Certified Counselor and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. Shawn integrates his beloved pets, Brisco, a Shih Tzu, and Danny, a Shih Poo, into his practice to enhance the healing experience. He recognizes the importance of collaboration and is dedicated to inviting relevant family members into sessions when appropriate. In his work with children, Shawn employs both directive and non-directive play therapy approaches to uncover their beliefs and assist them in navigating their concerns.
