Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Nacogdoches, TX, empowers passionate individuals to advocate for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows receive comprehensive training in organic food systems and community engagement without incurring tuition costs, ensuring that this essential education is accessible to all. Participants contribute to diverse initiatives including the cultivation and distribution of crops, educational health sessions, community garden maintenance, and the integration of food and ecological literacy into local schools. They also support farmers markets, enhance access to fresh, healthy foods, participate in community food coalitions, and prepare to mentor future cohorts. This transformative program culminates with a Community Action Year, allowing Fellows to apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations, making a meaningful impact on food assistance efforts across East Texas.
