Growing Recruits for Urban Business (GRUB)

Located in Lubbock, TX, Growing Recruits for Urban Business (GRUB) is dedicated to empowering young adults aged 14 to 18 by cultivating life and job skills through hands-on experience in community gardens. Our holistic approach includes education in horticulture, nutrition, money management, and practical job skills, guiding youth to lead healthier lifestyles while preparing them for the workforce. Participants engage in activities such as garden planning, soil preparation, irrigation maintenance, and produce harvesting, while also learning valuable marketing skills through the development of value-added products. With a focus on nurturing and supporting at-risk teens, the GRUB staff is passionate about fostering personal growth and career readiness in our youth, ensuring they are well-equipped to thrive in their futures.
