The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Longview, TX, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Our program offers comprehensive training without tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on, experiential education at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn about organic food systems and develop practical skills in growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, implementing innovative health education, and supporting community gardens. Throughout their journey, selected Fellows work alongside regional non-profit organizations during a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge to enhance access to healthy foods, foster food literacy, and support local farmers markets. Applications are accepted annually, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October each year, providing a hands-on, impactful opportunity for those passionate about creating change in our food systems.
