Steve Sutherland

Steve Sutherland is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been dedicated to facilitating healthy changes in the lives of his clients since entering private practice in 2003. With a strong belief that many individuals possess their own answers, he excels in fostering collaboration that helps clients break through limiting beliefs and behaviors. His practical, down-to-earth approach makes the often challenging decision to seek counseling a more comforting experience for many. Steve provides therapeutic services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families, specializing in issues such as grief and anger management. He is preparing to introduce anger management group therapy soon, building upon his extensive experience since 2001, which includes working with violent offenders and a diverse clientele in his practice. His anger management therapy integrates cognitive, behavioral, and insight-oriented techniques, often resulting in holistic improvements across various emotional areas. Steve's therapy journey began in 1989 when he volunteered as a group facilitator for Codependency/ACOA, and his professional background ranges from diagnosing and treating clients within the Texas prison system to serving as clinical director of a children’s shelter. He brings a wealth of professional and life experience that is poised to support and empower those he serves.
