Laurie Markey, LMFT, LPC, is a dedicated Marriage & Family Therapist who believes profoundly in the power of storytelling. Inspired by Brené Brown's insight that 'If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive,' Laurie strives to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where every client can express their narrative. With extensive experience counseling individuals, couples, and families, she understands that life can be a challenging journey filled with overwhelming struggles. Recognizing that many people face similar feelings of uncertainty and hopelessness, Laurie approaches therapy with a blend of professional education and personal life experiences that enhance her empathetic and accepting nature. Specializing in trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, and eating disorders, she employs a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Trauma-Focused therapy and the Gottman Method, to help clients heal past wounds and navigate present challenges. Laurie feels honored to accompany clients on their transformative journeys toward healing, growth, and writing their own beautiful story endings.
