Kristen Berglund, MA, LPC, is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor who believes that everyone deserves guidance at various points in their lives. Rather than judging or claiming to be the expert on anyone's life, Kristen listens, affirms, challenges, and educates clients about their psychological wellness, empowering them to make the best choices for themselves. Fascinated by human behavior and motivation, her ideal clients are those who are curious, motivated, and open to the possibility of change. Kristen creates a safe space for individuals to explore innovative ways to attain peace, effectively manage mental health, and enhance their life enjoyment. She particularly excels in supporting teens and adults in navigating issues surrounding gender and sexual identity. With a wealth of experience treating general depression, anxiety, and stress, Kristen has specialized training in several critical areas, including sexual abuse/assault recovery, complex PTSD, and general trauma recovery. Currently pursuing certification in EMDR, Kristen is trained in EMDRIA-approved techniques which provide evidence-based trauma treatment. Notably, she offers affirming care to LGBTQ+ adolescents, adults, and their families while firmly rejecting conversion or reparative therapies, which have been shown to cause harm and lack scientific foundation.
