Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP)

The Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP), offered by Austin Public Health, provides essential nutrition education and diabetes management classes to residents throughout Travis County, all at no cost. Our program is dedicated to empowering individuals living with type 2 diabetes through a comprehensive series of six 90-minute classes that address health education, nutrition education, and disease management. We believe in supporting participants holistically, which allows friends and family to join the sessions to foster a supportive learning environment. DEEP classes are accessible in English, Spanish, and Chinese (Mandarin), and we offer flexible formats both in-person and virtually on Zoom, ensuring that anyone in Austin, TX seeking guidance and knowledge on diabetes can participate and thrive.
