Located in Tullahoma, TN, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers individuals to advocate for an equitable food system through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected participants to engage in organic food system education without incurring tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all. Over six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows immerse themselves in sustainable practices, cultivating diverse crops, supporting local food initiatives, and enhancing food and ecological literacy in schools and communities. Following their immersive training, participants embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge through collaborations with regional non-profits to enhance food assistance programs, promote farmers markets, and facilitate educational sessions on health and nutrition. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
