Located in Sparta, TN, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at Allegheny Mountain Institute aims to train and empower individuals as advocates for a just food system. This unique program provides an immersive six-month experience focused on organic food system education, allowing Fellows to cultivate diversified crops, support local farmers markets, and implement community gardens. By facilitating educational sessions that promote food and ecological literacy, we strive to increase access to healthy foods and foster collaborative efforts among regional non-profit organizations. Our commitment to accessibility eliminates tuition fees, encouraging diverse participation. Each selected Fellow not only engages in hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus but also undertakes a Community Action Year to apply their knowledge and skills, enhancing food assistance efforts within local communities. Applications are accepted until March for our program running from May to October.
