The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Shelbyville, TN, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program empowers Fellows through hands-on training and education in organic food systems, allowing them to become advocates for sustainable practices. Participants engage in vital community initiatives such as crop cultivation and distribution, educational programs in health care, and developing school and community gardens. The Fellowship fosters food and ecological literacy while enhancing access to healthy food through support of farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. Selected Fellows spend six months immersed in experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a year of impactful community action with regional non-profits.
