The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Sevierville, TN, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders in sustainable food practices. Our program empowers aspiring advocates by providing comprehensive education on organic food systems, focusing on social, environmental, and economic justice. The Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected individuals to engage in six months of hands-on, immersive training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, before embarking on a Community Action Year where they will implement their knowledge through partnerships with regional non-profits. Our Fellows actively engage in diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops, creating educational programs for healthcare, supporting community gardens, and enhancing food access through farmers markets. We strive to make our Fellowship accessible by not charging tuition, ensuring that passionate individuals can gain practical skills to promote food security and ecological literacy in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with programs typically running from May to October.
