The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Powell, TN, cultivates a new generation of advocates committed to fostering a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through this immersive program, we provide comprehensive organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on experiences at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, support local farmers markets, and implement educational initiatives that promote food and ecological literacy. Our Fellows work alongside regional non-profit organizations during their Community Action Year, enhancing food assistance efforts and developing innovative strategies to improve access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, empowering participants to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
