The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Old Hickory, TN, strives to cultivate a new generation of leaders dedicated to fostering an equitable and sustainable food system. Through hands-on training and immersive education, this fellowship empowers participants to advocate for social, environmental, and economic justice in our food systems. Selected Fellows engage in a transformative six-month program at Allegheny Farm, where they gain practical experience in organic farming, diversified crop production, and community food access initiatives. They also implement educational efforts that promote food literacy, support local farmers markets, and contribute to community gardens. Following their training, fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge. Our commitment to accessibility ensures that tuition fees for the fellowship are waived, allowing passionate individuals to focus on creating healthier, more resilient communities. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience occurring from May to October.
