The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Oak Ridge, TN, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders committed to creating a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Our fellowship empowers individuals through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, where Fellows engage in organic food system education and practical initiatives, such as growing diversified crops and supporting community gardens. We prioritize accessibility by offering this transformative program at no tuition cost. Throughout their six-month experiential learning journey, Fellows also have the opportunity to foster community health initiatives, integrate food literacy into classroom settings, and promote equitable access to healthy food through farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. The fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where participants apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations, driving impact and sustainability in their local communities. Applications are accepted each year until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
