The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in McMinnville, TN is dedicated to cultivating a just food system through comprehensive education and hands-on training. By sponsoring and empowering motivated individuals, we transform our Fellows into passionate teachers and advocates for sustainable practices. Our program offers a rigorous six-month experiential learning opportunity at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where participants dive into organic agriculture, food systems education, and community engagement. During their time with us, Fellows learn to grow and market diverse crops, lead health-focused educational sessions, manage school and community gardens, and enhance food and ecological literacy in educational settings. They also play vital roles in bolstering local farmers markets and creating essential distribution channels to improve access to healthy foods. After their initial training, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional nonprofits to implement their knowledge and skills in real-world contexts. We prioritize accessibility by offering this enriching experience without tuition fees, ensuring that dedicated individuals can contribute to a more equitable food system. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
