The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Madisonville, TN, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Through an accessible, tuition-free program, we provide comprehensive organic food system education that equips our Fellows with the skills to teach and promote social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. Participants engage in hands-on training at our farm, learning to grow and distribute diversified crops, lead educational health initiatives, maintain school and community gardens, and foster food and ecological literacy within local schools. Additionally, our Fellows play a vital role in supporting farmers markets, developing distribution channels for healthy foods, and collaborating with community food coalitions to enhance food access. Following a six-month experiential learning period, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits to create lasting impact. Applications are open until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
