The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lawrenceburg, TN, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system by empowering individuals through hands-on education and advocacy. This innovative program offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn to champion social, environmental, and economic justice. Without charging tuition, we ensure accessibility for those passionate about making a difference. During a transformative six-month experience, Fellows engage in practical training that includes growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational health sessions, maintaining community and school gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy. They also support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives to enhance access to healthy foods while collaborating with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, inviting those committed to creating positive change in our food systems to join our mission.
