The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in La Vergne, TN, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive organic food system education, the Fellowship empowers selected participants to implement practical solutions in their communities. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm, learning to grow and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm, establish and maintain school and community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational programs. This six-month immersive experience culminates in a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their skills alongside local nonprofit organizations to enhance access to healthy foods and support initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions.
