The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Knoxville, TN, nurtures the next generation of leaders dedicated to building a fair and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this unique program equips Fellows with hands-on education in organic farming and food systems, fostering their roles as educators and advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice. With no tuition fees, we ensure that the Fellowship remains accessible to all passionate individuals. Participants engage in diverse activities such as cultivating crops on market-style farms, conducting innovative health education sessions, and promoting ecological literacy in schools. Over a transformative six-month experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, and a Community Action Year that follows, Fellows actively partner with local non-profits to enhance food security and support community food initiatives, including farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences commencing in May.
