Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Allegheny Mountain Institute (AMI)
Henderson, TN US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Henderson, TN, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. Our program empowers Fellows to advocate for a food system that is equitable, environmentally sustainable, and economically viable. Each Fellowship provides organic food system education at our farm campus, allowing participants to engage in meaningful activities such as growing diversified crops, conducting health-focused educational sessions, managing community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. We are committed to accessibility, with no tuition fees, and a mission to foster community connections through farmers markets and other direct-to-consumer programs. Selected Fellows immerse themselves in a six-month experiential study, followed by a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to put their training into practice. Applications are welcomed until March, with the program running from May to October.
