The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Goodlettsville, TN, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators in the realm of sustainable food systems. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, we offer a tuition-free program that prepares Fellows to promote a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected participants engage in organic food system education, learn to cultivate and distribute a variety of crops, and implement innovative health education initiatives. This fellowship also emphasizes the importance of community engagement, enabling Fellows to support school gardens, farmers markets, and programs that enhance food access and literacy. After a six-month immersive experience, participants complete a Community Action Year to apply their skills with local non-profits, fostering a network of food advocates dedicated to positive change. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by March each year for the program running from May to October.
