Franklin, TN US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Franklin, TN is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. Through hands-on training and experiential learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus, we empower Fellows to advocate for food systems that prioritize social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program promotes accessibility by not charging tuition, allowing emerging advocates to deeply engage with organic food system education. Throughout their journey, Fellows will cultivate and distribute diverse crops, run educational initiatives on innovative health care, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local schools. They will also champion farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, enhance distribution channels for healthier food access, and participate in community food coalitions. Following six months of immersive learning, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their acquired skills. Applications are open until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
