The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Farragut, TN, is dedicated to fostering a just food system that champions social, environmental, and economic equity. Through hands-on training and empowerment, our Fellows transform into knowledgeable educators and advocates for sustainable agriculture, hosted at the scenic Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. We eliminate tuition fees for our Farm and Food Study to enhance accessibility, inviting passionate individuals to immerse themselves in organic food system education. This program enables community partnerships to cultivate diversified crops, implement health-focused educational sessions, maintain vibrant school and community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in local activities. Additional initiatives include supporting farmers markets, enhancing access to healthy foods through improved distribution channels, and catalyzing community food coalition projects. Over a six-month experiential residency, selected Fellows engage in transformative learning, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their expertise with regional non-profits. Applications are welcomed annually until March, with the Fellowship experience commencing from May through October.
