The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Chattanooga, TN, is dedicated to cultivating leaders who advocate for a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and nourishing for all. Our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive, hands-on education focused on organic food systems, enabling them to engage actively in community initiatives. Throughout a six-month residential experience, participants receive training to grow diverse crops, implement health education programs, and maintain vibrant school and community gardens. They also learn to integrate food and ecological literacy in educational activities, support local farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through innovative distribution channels. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations to foster food justice and community resilience. We are committed to making this transformative experience accessible, as we do not charge tuition for participation. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications by March for the program running from May to October.
