The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in State College, PA, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Through hands-on training and education at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our Fellows engage in organic farming practices and develop the skills necessary to promote social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. Our program offers free tuition to ensure accessibility, encouraging diverse individuals to transform local communities by cultivating and distributing varied crops, running educational health initiatives, maintaining school and community gardens, and fostering food literacy among students. Selected Fellows partake in a six-month immersive experience, followed by a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profits, continuing their impact in food assistance and healthy food access initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year for a transformative experience spanning from May to October.
