Bourne ANEW is a dedicated consultation service led by Kenn Bourne, a Philadelphia-based social worker committed to providing curated interventions and valuable skills specifically for Black boys and young men. This initiative aims to equip them with the necessary tools to lead purposeful lives, which is essential for society. Recognizing the complexity of Black bodies and their intersections with various systems, Bourne ANEW addresses the previously neglected needs of this population, who have often found therapeutic spaces inadequate for their unique experiences of systemic trauma. Through this compassionate service, individuals have the opportunity to engage in thoughtful programming that fosters a safe dialogue and understanding. With a commitment to using culturally congruent, anti-oppressive, and antiracist therapeutic approaches, Bourne ANEW creates a nurturing environment where Black boys and young men can freely articulate their lived experiences without fear of judgment.
