The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in New Castle, PA, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders who champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through comprehensive, hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our Fellows gain valuable insights into organic food systems and community engagement. We believe that education should be accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition for our program. Our Fellows engage directly in meaningful projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health-focused educational sessions, maintaining gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. By fostering partnerships with local non-profits and supporting initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions, our Fellows contribute to a resilient food system. With a six-month experiential training followed by a Community Action Year, participants apply their knowledge in real-world settings, making a tangible impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
