Based in Gettysburg, PA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our transformative program offers comprehensive organic food system education, ensuring accessibility by waiving tuition fees. Fellows engage deeply with hands-on experiences at our picturesque Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to cultivate diverse crops, manage community gardens, and deliver innovative health-focused educational initiatives. Participants also collaborate with regional non-profits to implement impactful community action projects, enhance food literacy in schools, support farmers markets, and expand access to healthy foods. This immersive fellowship lasts six months, followed by a year of community action where Fellows actively contribute to local food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience commencing in May.
