Karina Bailey, a Licensed Professional Counselor, founded Melanin Mommy Therapy with a devoted focus on Black women. As a Black woman herself, she understands the unique pressures felt by this community, often burdened with stress, anxiety, and depression while being expected to embody strength. Karina believes that Black women serve as the foundation of many aspects of life, yet too often they are undervalued. With her certification as a clinical trauma professional, she employs a variety of therapeutic modalities including Trauma Focused, Emotionally Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as holistic approaches like art and music therapy. Her work encompasses addressing issues such as self-esteem, parenting, relationship challenges, and academic struggles. Furthermore, she provides educational sessions on puberty, menstruation, and sexual education. Melanin Mommy Therapy aims to be a sanctuary where Black women feel heard, understood, and appreciated. Karina is dedicated to breaking generational silence and empowering her clients to process their feelings in a supportive environment.
