Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Clarks Summit, PA US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute in Clarks Summit, PA, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators in creating a fair and sustainable food system. Our program empowers Fellows through hands-on, experiential training focused on organic agriculture and community engagement, with no tuition costs to ensure accessibility. Over a six-month immersive residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, participants learn about diversified crop production, food and ecological literacy, and health-related educational initiatives. After their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to implement community gardens, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. The Fellowship emphasizes the importance of social, environmental, and economic justice in our food systems, allowing participants to become effective leaders in their communities. Applications are accepted until March with program activities typically running from May to October.
