The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Woodward, OK, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. This program empowers selected Fellows to engage in hands-on education and advocacy for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Through a comprehensive six-month residential training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants learn about organic food systems, crop diversification, and the importance of food literacy within schools and communities. Our Fellows collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute healthy foods, manage community gardens, and enhance access to nutritious options through farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. Accessibility is a top priority, which is why we do not charge tuition for our program. Following their training, Fellows spend a Community Action Year applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, providing a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on local food systems.
