The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Wilburton, OK, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through comprehensive organic food system education and hands-on experience at Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in a transformative six-month program followed by a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profit organizations to implement meaningful change. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops, enhance health education, maintain community gardens, and promote food literacy in schools. By eliminating tuition fees, we strive to make this invaluable learning experience accessible, ensuring that more individuals can contribute to critical community efforts like farmers markets and food coalition activities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically occurring from May to October, fostering a vibrant network of change-makers in sustainable food systems.
