Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Spiro, OK, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates and educators committed to building a food system that is just, sustainable, and accessible for all. Supported by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship sponsors individuals through comprehensive training in organic food systems without charging tuition, ensuring that their valuable education is attainable for everyone. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences that include growing and distributing diversified crops, creating innovative health care educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. The program also emphasizes mentorship, allowing selected Fellows to support future participants and collaborate with regional nonprofits during their Community Action Year. This immersive experience runs from May to October, fostering a community of passionate individuals dedicated to enhancing food access and engaging local populations in meaningful food and agricultural initiatives.
