Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Shawnee, OK is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to building a just food system. Through hands-on training and mentorship, Fellows engage in organic food system education, learning how to grow and distribute diversified crops on market-style farms, implement innovative health care educational sessions, and maintain community and school gardens. This fellowship empowers participants to teach food and ecological literacy while supporting local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives to improve access to healthy foods. Over a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, selected Fellows partner with regional non-profit organizations, ensuring their skills have a meaningful impact on both community health and sustainability. We prioritize accessibility by offering this program tuition-free, encouraging diverse participation in the movement towards a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system.
