Joan Blake

Joan Blake is a licensed professional counselor dedicated to empowering individuals, couples, and families through compassionate treatment. She specializes in helping clients manage stress, make informed decisions, and regain control of their lives. With a rich background in disabilities, particularly deafness, and military life, Joan has spent over a decade as a military spouse, which has deepened her understanding of the complexities surrounding deployments, loneliness, depression, anxiety, re-integration, and PTSD. Her expertise with disabilities equips her to address the environmental and interpersonal barriers that many individuals face. Fluent in American Sign Language, she is adept at working with clients who communicate through sign language and is knowledgeable about Deaf cultural values, as well as the vocational challenges these individuals encounter. Joan's familiarity with military culture allows her to navigate the unique stresses of military life with ease. Additionally, her background in Vocational Rehabilitation provides her with a distinctive perspective on the importance of productivity and interpersonal connections in achieving optimal mental and emotional health.
