The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Collinsville, OK, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders committed to transforming food systems to be socially, environmentally, and economically just. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this unique, tuition-free program immerses selected Fellows in a rigorous six-month, hands-on learning experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they explore organic farming practices and food systems education. Throughout their journey, Fellows engage in diverse initiatives, from cultivating and distributing crops on a market-style farm to implementing educational sessions on innovative healthcare and enhancing community gardens. They actively promote food literacy in schools, support farmers markets, and drive access to healthy food through developmental partnerships with local non-profits. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, enabling participants to apply their training effectively and advocate for systemic change in regional food access. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
