Located in Afton, OK, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to empowering passionate individuals as they become advocates and educators for a just food system that balances social, environmental, and economic needs. Through a hands-on, six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows receive vital training in organic food systems education without any tuition fees, promoting accessibility for all. Participants engage with community partners, cultivating diversified crops, facilitating innovative health care education, maintaining gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational activities. They also support local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives while developing distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. This impactful program aims to foster the next generation of food system leaders through a dynamic Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profits, making a tangible difference in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year for the program running from May to October.
