Marshawna (starr) Hoyte

Marshawna (Starr) Hoyte is a dedicated counselor with a deep commitment to supporting individuals, couples, parents, and families through life's challenges. She established Thriving Families to empower people ages 12 and older to navigate the storms of life effectively. Drawing on the belief that past experiences significantly influence present behaviors, she emphasizes the importance of exploring one's history to uncover and address unhealthy core beliefs. Marshawna understands that these core beliefs shape how individuals perceive themselves, others, and their surroundings. With a focus on fostering healthy core belief systems, she aims to alter the trajectory of her clients' lives positively. Passionate about working with teens, adults, and families, Marshawna is particularly skilled in addressing a variety of challenges, including trauma. Her experience also includes working with at-risk youth and their families. Marshawna’s desire is for clients to enter her practice feeling wounded and leave with a sense of healing, achieved through a whole-person perspective in counseling. As a State-approved supervisor, she takes great pleasure in guiding those on their journey toward becoming licensed or independently licensed counselors. While she is currently not accepting new clients, she is welcoming new supervisees into her practice, providing them with the support needed for their professional growth.
