Grocery Bag Program

The Grocery Bag Program, operated by the Good Samaritan Hunger Center in Barberton, OH, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to those in need within the Akron area. We offer nutritious hot meals and grocery bags filled with food, all served with compassion and hospitality to anyone who seeks support. Our services include meals and groceries aimed at meeting basic nutritional needs for families facing food insecurity. Each adult in a household is eligible to receive food, with one member required to sign a form confirming they are at or below the poverty level according to The Emergency Food Assistance Program guidelines. There are no restrictions on the number of visits you may make. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adapted our operations to continue serving those who rely on us, offering food on a first-come, first-served basis with a drive-by service model.
