MOVE! Weight Management Program

MOVE! is a dedicated weight management and health promotion program located in Oakland Gardens, NY, tailored specifically for Veterans. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of those who have served by yearly screening every Veteran accessing care at VA facilities for obesity and providing personalized referrals to weight management services. MOVE! offers a variety of options to suit individual needs, including engaging group sessions, convenient telephone lifestyle coaching, and our innovative TeleMOVE! program, which allows for in-home messaging and clinician support. For Veterans who prefer self-guided approaches, the MOVE! Coach mobile app is available alongside medical options like weight loss medications and bariatric surgery for those facing persistent challenges with weight-related issues. Each facility may offer different services, so Veterans interested in participating can connect with their local MOVE! Coordinator or VA provider to begin their journey towards a healthier lifestyle.
