Senior Activities

The City of Mount Vernon Office for the Aging warmly invites seniors to participate in a vibrant array of daily activities at our two dedicated Senior Centers. We serve all seniors in Mount Vernon, ensuring that everyone can join in, regardless of their regular center. Our comprehensive referral services and community outreach cover critical areas such as assisted living, Medicare, consumer protection, mental health counseling, elder abuse support, and nursing home guidance. We also offer help with employment, nutrition and recreation, food stamps, prescription drug plans, and more. Our programs extend to frail elderly day care, property tax abatement, health center access, rent assistance, homemaker services, supplemental security income (SSI), housing support, social security, legal services, and social services. We provide home-delivered meals and transportation services from Monday to Friday, with all medical services available at no cost to Mount Vernon seniors. Our centers are fully accessible, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and care, and we encourage seniors to explore the volunteer opportunities we offer to foster community engagement.
