Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)

The Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Kingston, NY, offers essential, no-cost family nutrition education specifically designed for limited-resource families participating in SNAP or WIC. Our mission is to empower residents of Ulster County by teaching how to make healthy food choices, plan nutritious meals on a budget, and incorporate physical activity into daily life. Through engaging workshops filled with hands-on learning experiences, including recipes and tastings, participants gain practical skills in areas such as shopping smart, reading nutrition labels, and meal planning. We also provide specialized breastfeeding workshops that educate on topics from prenatal nutrition to transitioning to solid foods. With 8-10 weekly sessions available online and in-person, participants who complete at least six lessons receive valuable cooking or baby items, an EFNEP cookbook, and a Certificate of Completion.
