Valerie Willis

Valerie Willis is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, individuals, and families, including biological, adoptive, and kinship families. Her extensive background includes work at notable institutions such as Bancroft School, where she supported autistic and deaf children, and Robins' Nest Inc., assisting DYFS' foster and adopted children and families, as well as at-risk and mentally ill youth. Valerie has also contributed her skills as a counselor at the Mother/Child Residential Center and as an outpatient counselor and parental group facilitator at Danellie Counseling Center. Additionally, she has specialized training in perinatal mood disorders from The Postpartum Stress & Family Wellness Center, serving as a child, adolescent, and perinatal mood expert. Valerie employs a variety of treatment modalities, including Trauma-Focused Therapy, Family and Marital Counseling, Attachment-Based Therapy, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Sandplay, offering an individualized approach to each client. With a focus on individuals aged four through adulthood, she provides comprehensive counseling services including play therapy and maternal health support. Valerie obtained her EMDR certificate from the EMDR Institute in 2014 and her post-graduate perinatal mood disorder training in 2010 from renowned expert Karen Kleiman, MSW, LCSW.
